E/Port D Withdrawn

Unfortunately, because of losing members, Ellesmere Port have had to withdraw their D team from the league.  Whilst the fixtures booklet obviously cannot be altered, the E/Port D fixtures on the website have been marked as cancelled.

Next League Meeting

The next League meeting will be held on Wednesday 25th October 2017 in the Clubhouse of the Cheshire County Sports Club at 7:30pm.

Please make sure your club is represented.

Fixtures Booklets Ready

The 2017/18 Fixtures Booklets are now available.

Club Secs – if your club ordered booklets they can now be collected from reception at the Cheshire County Sports Club.

How to add scores

Team Captains – go to the Downloads page for the updated  ‘Guide: How to add results’.

The method for entering results is the same as last year but please remember that this season you are entering GAMES won not events won during the match.

It is still a requirement that the home team shall enter the results within 7 days of the match being played.

Trophy Competitions

At the Fixture Meeting it was agreed there should be a new look to the Parker and Capper Trophy Competitions. Because of past difficulties associated with fitting trophy matches into an already busy fixtures schedule, the competitions will now be held on two Sundays towards the end of the season.

The Tournament Committee will bring available dates and proposed format of the competitions to the next League Meeting in October 2017.

Major Rule Change – Points Awarded

This season we have a major change to Rules 5.3 & 5.4 relating to how points are awarded. Instead of 2 points for a match win, I point for a draw and 0 points for a loss there will be 1 point awarded for each game won in a match.

Teams will still play 8 events (4 mixed, 2 men’s and 2 ladies doubles) and these events will still be the best of three games in accordance with the rally points scoring system. At the end of the event the captain will record the number of games won and the total of the rally points won by each team.

(The new match score sheet is available on the downloads page and must be used by all teams)

The match result: games won by each team (e.g. 5:14, 12:7, 16:8, 4:13 ) shall be entered on to the website by the home team.

At the end of the season the team having accumulated the greatest number of points (i.e. who have won the greatest number of games) will be the winners of their division.

Men’s League

Due to popular demand we will be running the informal men’s league again in the 2017/18 season.

Initially six clubs entered teams: Buckley, CCO, Christleton (2 teams), Halton, Millbrook and Norley.

Connah’s Quay subsequently joined but only after the fixtures book had been printed. However fixtures for all 7 teams can be found on the Fixtures & Results page.
